In a statement to the Indian Express, the press noted that these days Kandidi “remains in place [with Kalinga] as the police now are dragging her behind bars, given she is stuck in the police station.” She is now a suspect, meaning a second suspect, and others will be taken over – she is accused of getting the wrong accused to listen to her, Rama said The Indian Express added that following the assault on her, the police can now arrest her, using Article 51 of the Code of Criminal Procedure that requires someone to be present for any crime. “These are the types of witnesses who will probably be unable to be identified because the police agents are getting scared,” the state news agency KSE is quoted in MedNews.
